Spartanburg Herald-Journal growth and development reporter Kathryn Casteel has been hired by the Greenville (S.C.) News to be a watchdog and investigative reporter.
She will start in two weeks.
Casteel has been with the Herald-Journal since July 2021. Casteel had been an investigative reporter at the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama, since October 2018.
She previously worked at FiveThirtyEight.com and interned at Crain’s New York Business.
Casteel holds a bachelor’s degree from University of South Carolina Upstate and a master’s degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
