Gonzalez departing Axios for Albritton Journalism Institute

Axios health care reporter Oriana Gonzalez is leaving the news organization for the Albritton Journalism Institute.

She will report for its nonprofit news site.

Gonzalez has also been a breaking news reporter at Axios. She has been at Axios since October 2020 covering a variety of topics. She was a frequent contributor to the “Axios Today” podcast and has appeared on Sirius XM, Scripps News, Telemundo, and MSNBC.

Gonzalez is a 2020 graduate of the University of California-Irvine, where she was editor in chief of the student newspaper. While in college, she interned at E! News.

He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
