Gittelsohn named LA bureau chief for Bloomberg

Bloomberg News reporter John Gittelsohn has been named its Los Angeles bureau chief.

He will continue to cover real estate.

Gittelsohn has been with Bloomberg since 2009, primarily covering the real estate beat. Before that, he spent 14 years at the Orange County Register and four years at the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. He also spent three years working as a freelancer for the Boston Globe out of Seoul, South Korea.

His work has received recognition from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the Education Writers Association and the Orange County Press Club.

Gittelsohn holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
