Personal finance reporter Lane Gillespie was among the layoffs last week at Bankrate.com.
They had been with the news organization for three years.
Gillespie previously was a real estate reporter at Bisnow and a reporter at the Houston Business Journal covering education and retail for the publication. Gillespie also covered restaurants for the publication.
Gillespie has also worked as a freelance journalist from August 2015 to March 2019. And they interned at Houstonia magazine and the Houston Chronicle.
They graduated from the University of Houston with a BA in print journalism in 2018.
