Wall Street Journal reporter Alastair Gale has left the publication for a similar position at Bloomberg News.
He has been Asia security correspondent and Japan editor for The Journal, based in Tokyo. He writes about regional security issues, with a focus on China, and covers major news developments in Japan.
Gale has worked in Asia for the company since 1999 and was bureau chief in Seoul from 2011 to 2016. He has been part of teams that have won awards from the Society of Publishers in Asia, including for coverage of North Korea.
He is a graduate of Bristol University.
