James Fontanella-Khan, the U.S. finance editor at The Financial Times, is departing next month, reports Lachlan Cartwright of Breaker.

Cartwright reports, “Khan, who had previously red-carded offers from Politico and Semafor, is joining AC Milan as chief corporate affairs officer, according to multiple people familiar with the situation.

“The former professional soccer player will split his time between Milan and New York as he gets to work for AC Milan owner and RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale.

“Khan, who will be staying at the FT until the end of October, has built a formidable team in the States, including Investment Correspondent Amelia Pollard, Wall Street editor Sujeet Indap, Deals Reporter Oliver Barnes and Private Equity Reporter Antonie Gara.”
