Benjamin Parkin has been named Middle East and Africa news editor at the Financial Times, based in London.
He was previously in India for the FT for five years between 2019 and 2024.
He started as a correspondent covering corporate India in Mumbai, before moving to New Delhi as South Asia correspondent to cover regional politics, economics and business across countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Before that he covered commodities for The Wall Street Journal.
Parkin holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
