The Financial Times announced that Rebecca Salsbury will be its chief product and technology officer beginning January 2026.

She succeeds John Kundert.

Salsbury, who joined the FT in 2023 as chief technology officer, has been instrumental in shaping and delivering the technology strategy and direction across all FT Group companies.

In addition to her tenure at the FT, she brings a significant track record of success at other media businesses, including over a decade at the BBC, where she was responsible for platform services underpinning all digital products.

“Rebecca is an exceptionally capable and experienced leader,” said CEO Jon Slade in a statement. “She combines strategic thinking, deep technical expertise and a collaborative style that will bring real strength to the FT management board.”

The FT has a record paying readership of 1.5 million, while the wider FT Group has a global paying audience of 3 million across its portfolio of journalism, products and services.
