
The Financial Times has named Chris Johnston its Asia companies and markets news editor, based in Hong Kong.
He has been assistant companies news editor and City Bulletin writer in London.
He previously was senior editor of weekdays at Business Insider. In his new role, he will commission and edit stories from staff across the UK newsroom.
Previously, he worked as a digital business editor at The Telegraph. Before that, he was a reporter and news editor at The Guardian and BBC News. He also worked at The Times for more than 10 years, holding the posts of news editor and business news editor.
He also reported for TES (Times Educational Supplement and Times Higher Education Supplement). Johnston graduated from Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
