Ben Axelrod has been hired by Front Office Sports as a news editor focused on sports media, working closely on its Tuned In franchise with beat reporters Mike McCarthy and Ryan Glasspiegel.
Axelrod made a name for himself at Awful Announcing, where he was an editor for two and a half years, and before that he wrote about Big Ten football for Bleacher Report and Cox Media.
“He lives and breathes sports media and will make an immediate impact for us,” said Daniel Roberts, the editor of Front Office Sports.
Axelrod is the second news editor FOS has added in the past two months: Katie Krzaczek joined in December after stints editing sports and business stories at the Philadelphia Inquirer, Slate, and Yahoo Finance.
