Max Tani of Semafor reports about tension between Financial Times columnist Rana Foroohar and the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Tani reports, “Foroohar complained to WEF chief Klaus Schwab on Friday that her treatment at last year’s forum had persuaded her never to attend the elite confab again. She wrote that she was disappointed when WEF organizers accidentally double-booked her for a chats with New York Times columnist Tom Friedman and US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. She was ‘particularly disturbed’ after learning that she would be moderating the panel with Friedman instead of participating as a panelist herself.

“‘Given the impression that you seem to have that I am somehow at fault for something, I think it’s important that you hear what really happened,’ she wrote. ‘Yes, there were some problems at the meeting in May, and they related to things I’ve found increasingly problematic in my 20 odd years attending WEF.’

“She also complained at length about WEF communications head Adrian Monck, who she said ‘publicly berated’ her at the forum over a column she wrote in 2022 about the ‘many hypocrisies of the global elite attending Davos.'”
