Fox Business sees slight decline, still tops CNBC

Fox Business Network reported a slight decline in viewers in July compared to the second quarter of the year, but it still tops rival CNBC in Nielsen ratings.

It had an average of 124,000 total viewers in July, down from an average of 137,000 total viewers in the second quarter. CNBC had an average of 88,000 total viewers.

During the 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. business day, Fox Business had an average of 199,000 viewers compared to an average of 216,000 total viewers in the second quarter. CNBC had an average of 130,000 total viewers during the business day.

During market hours, Fox Business had an average of 192,000 viewers in July, down from an average of 207,000 during the second quarter. CNBC had an average of 134,000 viewers in July.

CNBC says its Nielsen data does not include consumers who watch in the office or in public places.

Fox Business claims the top five business news shows, with “Kudlow” coming in at No. 1. “Varney & Co.” is No. 2.
