
Alan Fossler, the interim business editor for the Houston Chronicle, has been named assistant breaking news editor at the paper.
A story on its website states, “In his new role, Fossler will coordinate live coverage of Houston’s most significant breaking and trending news while continuing to emphasize staff development, collaboration and newsroom excellence.
‘Alan’s constant focus on the needs of our readers and viewers and his exceptional organizational skills have helped teams across the newsroom adapt and grow,’ said Dana Burke, breaking news editor. ‘Those strengths will serve him well as he helps lead our always-moving breaking news team.’
“Fossler joined the Chronicle in 1998 as a copy editor in the newspaper’s suburban newsrooms.”
