Fortune video producer Merenes leaving for Axios

Stephen Merenes

Fortune magazine video producer Stephen Merenes has been hired by Axios to be a senior cinematographer and editor.

He starts his new job on Monday.

Merenes has been with Fortune for the past year, producing and editing a weekly digital video series.

He previously freelanced for Univision Communications and was a producer and editor for Meredith Corp. He also worked as a videographer for OK! TV and Verizon Fios 1 News.

Merenes holds a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
