Kali Hays
Fortune tech correspondent Kali Hays has resigned from the news organization.
“It’s an understatement to say the work of scoops and original reporting is difficult and occurs under immense pressure,” she wrote on a social media post. “There are tends of thousands fewer people doing this work when I started 12 years ago, fewer still the farther back you go.”
Before joining Fortune last year, she had been at Business Insider since September 2021, covering social media and based n Los Angeles.
Hays previously worked at Women’s Wear Daily, where she covered media, fashion, beauty and related industries before leaving earlier this year. She joined WWD in February 2017 and initially covered finance, business, legal and media news relevant for the broader fashion, retail and beauty industries.
Before WWD, Hays was a reporter at Law360. She also worked at Prospect News, reporting and writing for a daily newsletter covering distressed debt and bankruptcy in the U.S. and international markets.
