Fortune magazine has hired Ruth Umoh as its leadership editor.
She will start later this month.
Umoh is currently editor-in-chief of The Filament, a news source for diversity, equity and inclusion leaders in technology. She previously spent two years at Forbes as diversity and inclusion editor, where she wrote articles about diversity and inclusion in the workplace, business and society at large.
Umoh also worked at CNBC, Rolling Stone and the New York Daily News. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
