Fortune magazine has hired Dave Smith to be an editor on the news, real estate and success teams.
He previously was at The Messenger as deputy editor for the homepage and story production.
Before The Messenger, Smith was a deputy editor on Business Insider’s owned & operated audience team, which included homepage, notifications, and newsletters.
Smith had been with Insider for more than eight years, previously serving as senior editor, deputy editor, senior correspondent, front page editor and host/producer. He held editorial roles at ReadWrite and International Business Times.
Smith has a B.A. from the University of Maryland.
