Fortune magazine has hired Nick Lichtenberg to be its executive editor.
He worked with Fortune editor in chief Alyson Shontell at Business Insider.
“He is a real talent who is sharp on all angles of business from markets to the economy to crypto to housing, with a keen eye for stories readers will love and the speed for a 24/7 digital media newsroom,” said Shontell in a message. “And experience building out global teams, which he will be doing here as he builds up news teams in Europe and Asia.”
Lichtenberg was deputy editor of economy coverage at Business Insider. Previously, he was senior editor, economy.
Lichtenberg has served as a senior editor at Business Insider and was a breaking news editor at Bloomberg. He was also deputy managing editor, U.S. Credit at Reorg Research, Inc.
He also served as global head content editor of equities at Mergermarket and was a content editor at the Financial Times. He also held editorial posts at ALM and Vault.com.
Lichtenberg graduated from Syracuse University.
