We’ve got some exciting news over on Edit’s AI team. We have a new senior AI reporter starting tomorrow: Emily Forlini. She is joining Fortune from PCMag where she was a senior technology reporter covering AI and other emerging technology. Emily will work out of the New York office and report to me.
While at PCMag, Emily produced a great feature on a family in Pennsylvania fighting a power company that was trying to seize their land through eminent domain to make way for a transmission line for an AI data center, looked into brain-computer interface company Synchron, wrote about why Silicon Valley was trying to import the 996 work week first popularized by Chinese tech firms even as Chinas was trying to ban it, and delivered a series of scoops about EV companies. She has also been a podcast host and made regular appearances to talk about tech on CBS.
Emily pivoted into journalism through a masters degree at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism after having previously worked as a product manager at Amazon for six years. She has a BA in History from Columbia University. Outside of work, she likes visiting museums and playing soccer and guitar.
