Fortune hires Business Insider’s Robison to cover tech

Kylie Robison

Fortune magazine has hired Business Insider reporter Kylie Robison to cover tech.

She will start later this month.

Robison was a reporter based in San Francisco covering software developers and their communities, tools, startups, and more at Insider’s cloud technology desk.

Her scoops and exclusive stories exposed the implosion inside a Stripe-backed startup and uncovered allegations of pay inequity inside Peloton. She then detailed the subsequent turmoil inside the firm. Her reporting has covered some of the world’s biggest tech companies like AmazonGoogleRobinhood, and Square.

Robison is a graduate of Sacramento State College.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
