Liam Ford, a 23-year veteran of the Chicago Tribune who took a buyout in July, has taken a senior reporting position with Ion Group’s Inframation News.
Inframation covers the global infrastructure and energy market business.
Ford covered the renovation of Chicago’s Soldier Field for the Tribune and wrote a book about the stadium’s history for the University of Chicago Press.
From 2014 to mid-2022 he worked as an editor on the paper’s breaking news desks, maintaining databases of Chicago crime and supervising many new hires and interns, as well as more seasoned reporters.
A reporter and editor since 1992, he will be covering public-private partnerships in the U.S. and Canada for Inframation out of Ion’s Chicago office.
