Technology and business editor John Paczkowski is leaving BuzzFeed News to in Forbes overseeing the tech and innovation team.
He will start July 11.
Based in San Francisco, Paczkowski will oversee Forbes’ coverage of technology, including artificial intelligence, big data, cloud, consumer tech, cybersecurity, enterprise tech, social media, and venture capital.
“Everywhere John has worked, he has discovered talent, made them better and broken stories of impact,” said Randall Lane, Forbes chief content officer, in a statement. “Looking at his career arc, it’s incredibly exciting to think what he can achieve stepping into a brand like Forbes, and the outstanding team that he inherits.”
Paczkowski has been with BuzzFeed since February 2015. His desk has was honored with a Livingston and two Mirror awards in 2019, and a Polk and a Pulitzer in 2021.
He previously was deputy editor of tech news site Recode and a senior editor at All Things D, the Wall Street Journal’s tech news site.
Paczkowski also worked at the San Jose Mercury News. From 1999 to 2007, he wrote the award-winning tech news Web log Good Morning Silicon Valley for the Mercury News, Silicon Valley’s daily newspaper. He also managed Knight Ridder’s SiliconValley.com, a technology news and opinion Web site honored with back-to-back EPpy awards from Editor and Publisher in 2003 and 2004.
