Catie Wegman, who covers housing and real estate for Gannett paper TCPalm in southeast Florida, is leaving after three-and-a-half years.
“Working for Gannett, particularly this last year, has been nothing but disheartening. And I know many other young journalists are facing the same hard decision,” she wrote on Twitter.
Wegman has been with the paper since September 2019 and has covered housing and real estate since August 2021.
She previously was an intern for the Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, the Palm Beach Post and the Gainesville Sun.
Wegman is a University of Florida graduate.
