Financial Times taps Jalabi as Middle East correspondent

Raya Jalabi

Raya Jalabi has joined the Financial Times as Middle East correspondent.

She will be based in Syria, focusing on Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

She comes from Reuters, where she worked as an Iraq correspondent and, most recently, as a senior correspondent. She was also a news editor on the U.S. and international news desks at Guardian News & Media. Before that, she was a reporter.

Jalabi has a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
