The Financial Times has hired Ella Lee to cover the U.S. Justice Department.
She will start next week.
Lee is a legal affairs reporter for The Hill, focused on the intersection of national politics and the courts. Her beat spans the Trump administration’s legal battles, judicial security, high-profile criminal cases tinged by politics and the U.S. Supreme Court.
She also co-authors “The Gavel,” a weekly newsletter for The Hill that parses how courts and politics shape each other.
Before joining The Hill, Lee worked at USA Today as a political reporter. She studied journalism and American politics at DePaul University
