Financial Post hires Potkins from Calgary Herald

Meghan Potkins

The Financial Post in Canada has hired Meghan Potkins from the Calgary Herald.

She will be based in Calgary and cover business news out of Alberta and Western Canada. Potkins will start next month.

She has been at the Herald for the past 10 years as a digital producer, staff reporter and City Hall reporter. She previously worked at the Winnipeg Free Post and the National Post.

Potkins holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta and a master’s degree from Carleton University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
