Fieseler to cover renewable energy, climate and tech for Politico/E&E News

Clare Fieseler has been hired by Politico and subsidiary E&E News to cover renewable energy, climate and technology.

She will start in June.

Most recently, Fieseler was a staff reporter for The Post and Courier, South Carolina’s largest newspaper. She also maintains a research appointment at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History where she works with Dr. Nick Pyenson on a National Geographic Society-funded research project.

Her byline has appeared in outlets like Vox, Slate, National Geographic, and The Washington Post.

She holds a PhD in ecology from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
