Female newsroom leadership rises at Reuters

Reuters editor-in-chief Alessandra Galloni and global editor for newsroom diversity Joyce Adeluwoye-Adams shared the following message with colleagues:

Colleagues,

Today we have published the fourth annual Diversity at Reuters report, covering progress and initiatives in 2023.

The report documents the work we have done to foster a more inclusive newsroom, while acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead. Last year we made good progress in diversifying our leadership, with a notable increase in the proportion of senior leaders from racially or ethnically diverse backgrounds. We continue to increase the number of women in leadership, with a three-percentage point increase to 39% from 36%.

It is important to celebrate the achievements we have made. However, there is still much work to be done. We remain committed to celebrating diversity and giving a voice to more people around the globe.
