The second mystery novel by Neal Lipschutz, a one-time deputy editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal, was published on Aug. 4.
“Long Arm of the Past” follows Lipschutz’s fictional debut, “No Write Way to Die,” published in July 2025. Both are from the independent publisher Tucker DS Press.
“In addition to serving as a deputy editor-in-chief, Lipschutz also was at one time The Journal’s standards and ethics editor. He also was the top editor at Dow Jones Newswires. He retired from The Journal in 2023.
“Long Arm of the Past” is a sequel and the second in the Scott Morgan mystery series. It follows Morgan, a successful management consultant, as he teams up with his former nemesis, retired NYPD Detective Delmore Kerbich, to seek answers about the mysterious death of the consulting firm’s just-retired chairman.
Both novels are available from online book retailers or through bookstores.
