Stephen Eisenhammer, who has been based in Brazil for the past three years, has been named Mexico and Central America bureau chief for Reuters.
He had been reporting from Angola from 2017 to 2019. The foreign correspondent was also previously based in Brazil from 2014 to 2017.
Prior to that, Eisenhammer was the natural resources correspondent in London, where he covered oil and mining companies.
He also founded the Latin American news website Pulsamerica.co.uk, which offered a weekly summary of top news from Latin American countries, from 2010 to 2012.
He also worked as a freelance contributor to Time Out Magazine in 2012.
