Edwards hired as editorial director for DLNews

Jim Edwards, who was the founding editor of Business Insider UK, has been hired as editorial director for DLNews, a new cryptocurrency news service.

He most recently has been editor in chief of news at Insider before leaving earlier this year. He had been at the company for more than 10 years.

Edwards joined Business Insider in November 2011 as a senior editor in New York.

He moved to London in June 2014 to launch the UK edition. In September 2017, he become editor in chief of Business Insider UK and International.

Edwards previously was a columnist for CBS Interactive, and managing editor and senior editor for Adweek. He was also a senior writer for the New Jersey Law Journal and a senior writer for Brill’s Content.

His investigative journalism helped change the law in two cases before U.S. Courts of Appeals and one in New York State.

The U.S. Supreme Court cited his work on the death penalty in Baze v. Rees, on the question of whether lethal injection is cruel or unusual.

He won the Neal award for business journalism in 2005 for investigating bribery in the advertising sector.
