Catherine Rampell
Washington Post economics columnist Catherine Rampell is leaving the publication after accepting a buyout offer.
She is also an anchor/co-host at MSNBC. She frequently covers economics, public policy, immigration and politics, with a special emphasis on data-driven journalism.
She is also a special correspondent for the PBS NewsHour and a contributor to Marketplace. She serves on the advisory boards for the Journal of Economic Perspectives and for the American Family Survey at BYU.
Rampell previously served as an economic and political commentator for CNN, and she wrote about economics and theater for the New York Times.
She received the 2021 Online Journalism Award for Commentary and the 2010 Weidenbaum Center Award for Evidence-Based Journalism, and she is a seven-time Gerald Loeb Award finalist.
She grew up in Florida and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University.
