Liz O’Melia

Dow Jones & Co. CEO Almar Latour sent out the following to the staff:

Team,

I am excited to announce that Liz O’Melia will be joining Dow Jones as chief financial officer starting on May 16. She joins us at a unique chapter of transition and growth for our company.

Liz will oversee the global finance team, supporting the company’s strategic vision as well as day-to-day financial activities, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and leading our key finance functions. She will serve as business partner to the broader Dow Jones senior management team.

Liz was CFO of S&P Ratings and is a proven leader in finance and strategy. Having spent a large part of her career at S&P with a focus on financial and information services, she was involved in the company’s transformation from The McGraw-Hill Companies to S&P Global. She also held the position of senior vice president and global treasurer at S&P Global. Throughout her career at various multinational companies, Liz has driven business growth and value creation and has supported career development for colleagues across various finance teams. Prior to the S&P transition, she had significant involvement with multimedia and broadcasting, including TV properties, through then-McGraw-Hill’s publishing house business.

Most recently, as CFO executive partner at Gartner, Liz advised CFO clients at Global 1000 organizations and government agencies, partnering with CFOs to advise on vision and strategy and to assist with digital transformation and financial operations.

Throughout her finance career, Liz has been an avid reader of The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s and a user of other Dow Jones offerings to help inform strategy and decision-making. With significant acquisition and integration experience, Liz is a strategic thinker and is well positioned to help us build on our mission to provide the world’s most trusted journalism, information, data and analytics to help people make decisions.

We thank David Kerridge for his exemplary leadership as interim head of finance. He stepped up to lead the function through a critical time in our transformation, including the planning and close of our OPIS acquisition and our upcoming Base Chemicals acquisition. David’s leadership has been instrumental in positioning us for the future, and we look forward to his continued contributions. David will continue in his role as SVP FP&A.

Please join me in welcoming Liz to Dow Jones and wishing her success in this important role.

Almar
