Josh Stinchcomb, the chief revenue officer at Dow Jones & Co., sent out the following on Monday:

Team,

I am excited to announce that Jason Fox will be joining Dow Jones as SVP Commerce and General Manager of Buy Side starting February 8, 2023.

In this role, Jason will oversee Buy Side, as well as our other commerce initiatives, including WSJ Wine, WSJ Shop and the coupons and offers business. He will be responsible for Buy Side’s editorial strategy, as well driving affiliate marketing, brand marketing, business development, commercial partnerships and operations across all commerce related businesses. Along with his direct reports Emily Welsh, Head of Business Development and Marketing, and Leslie Yazel, Editor – Head of Content, Jason will build on the success of the Buy Side platform, while identifying and driving other related revenue streams.

Jason joins Dow Jones from Consumer Reports where he was Chief Digital Officer. Operating as the General Manager for CR’s digital business, including its award-winning site, CR.org, Jason was responsible for the organization’s technology and digital operations, including product management, engineering, strategic and commercial partnerships, digital analytics, project management, and more. Over eight transformative years, he helped bring an legacy media business into a thriving digital-forward enterprise, co-led the launch of a successful membership business model with more than 5 million paying members, grew a nascent affiliate marketing business into one of the largest revenue streams at Consumer Reports, and stood-up several innovative, commercial partnerships.

Prior to that, Jason served as the Global Head of Product for Reuters, where he oversaw a global staff of product managers and technologists responsible for multiplatform B2B media products. In addition, he held several senior-level product and business development positions at Time Inc.

Jason also serves on the executive committee of the board and as Treasurer for Digital Content Next (DCN), the leading digital publisher trade organization, of which Dow Jones is a member.

With a history of transforming digital businesses, piloting data-driven solutions and creating innovative products for some of the world’s leading organizations, Jason has proven himself to be extraordinarily adept at aligning team goals, navigating ambiguity, and breaking down barriers to drive growth.

Please join me in welcoming Jason to Dow Jones and wishing him success in this important role.

Josh
