
Technology news site Digital Trends has laid off editor in chief Nick Mokey as well as eight others.
“I’m incredibly proud of the work I did at DT, and grateful for the relationships I forged there,” said Mokey in a post on LinkedIn. “Those relationships have really buoyed my spirits during the last 24 hours.”
Mokey had been with the publication since 2008 and previously was managing editor before becoming editor in chief last year.
Others laid off include:
- Computing editor Luke Larsen;
- Entertainment editor: Jason Struss;
- Copy chief Rob Oster;
- Mobile editor: Joe Maring;
- Gaming editor: Sam Hill;
- Copy editor Jon Ralston;
- Mobile writer: Christine Romero-Chan; and
- Gaming writer: Tomas Franzese.
In 2020, Digital Trends laid off 13 editorial staffers.
