Dickey departs Axios for Gazetteer San Francisco

Axios reporter Megan Rose Dickey is departing to join Gazetteer San Francisco to cover technology.

She will start Oct. 7.

Before Axios, Dickey was chief content officer at Backstage Capital, which invests in what it calls “underestimated” founders. She had been covering artificial intelligence and diversity, equity and inclusion in the technology industry for Protocol before that.

Dickey was previously a senior reporter at TechCrunch focused on labor, transportation, and diversity and inclusion in tech. She previously spent two years at Business Insider covering tech startups focused on the shared economy, IoT and music industry.

She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2011 with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism.

He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
