Denver Biz Journal hires Tomtas as a reporter

The Denver Business Journal has hired Justyna Tomtas as a reporter.

She will cover metro-area land use, local government policies and suburban development.

Tomtas has been a regional editor for CT Publishing as the lead editor for The Reflector in Battle Ground and Nisqually Valley News in Yelm and an education reporter for the Lewiston Tribune in Idaho. She also worked as a reporter for the Chronicle in Centralia, Washington.

Tomtas holds a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
