Denham departing Washington Business Journal

Hannah Denham

Washington Business Journal reporter Hannah Denham is leaving the American City Business Journals paper.

Her last day is April 14. She has been at the publication since 2021.

Denham will become a local investigative reporter for AL.com in Birmingham.

Recently, Denham was a breaking news reporter for the business and financial desk at The Washington Post. She has also worked at Ring-tum Phi, the student newspaper of Washington and Lee University.

Additionally, she has also interned at The Washington Post, NBC News Channel, Tampa Bay Times and Refugee Working Group. She was also a Rockbridge County beat reporter at Rockbridge Report.

Denham holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Washington and Lee.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
