Deffenbaugh joins Protocol as fintech reporter

Ryan Deffenbaugh

Protocol has tapped Ryan Deffenbaugh as a financial technology reporter.

He joins from Crain’s New York Business, where he worked as a digital reporter, and recently, as a technology reporter.

In this role, be covered people, politics and money in New York City’s technology industry, from the industry giants to new startups.

Prior to joining Crain’s, he was a reporter at Westfair Business Publications in New York. He previously worked as a digital editor at Westchester Magazine and as a county government reporter at The Citizen in Auburn, New York.

Deffenbaugh has a B.A. in journalism from the State University of New York College at Oswego.
