Decrypt Media editor in chief Daniel Roberts is leaving the cryptocurrency news site to become editor in chief of Variant.
Variant is an early stage investment fund for web3 companies.
“I’ll be building out an editorial operation that will include essays and technical papers, an email newsletter, and a podcast,” said Roberts in a message.
Roberts previously was an editor at large at Yahoo Finance, where he covered sports business, tech, bitcoin, and media. He hosted the podcast Sportsbook and the daily live show YFi AM. Before Yahoo, he spent more than five years at Fortune Magazine.
He is the author of the 2013 book “Zoom: Surprising Ways to Supercharge Your Career.”
