Decrypt hires Doom as US news editor, Irwin as reporter

Justin Doom

Cryptocurrency news site Decrypt has hired Justin Doom as U.S. news editor and Kate Irwin as staff reporter.

Doom joins from ABC News, where he was an editor/writing coach. He has also taught at Arizona State University and was a contributor to The Atlantic, Sports Illustrated and The Arizona Republic.

He has also reported for Bloomberg and was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Kate Irwin

Irwin will be covering cryptocurrency news, technology and culture for Decrypt.

Previously, she was contributing to Decrypt, inputmag.com and Dot Esports. She has also written for U.S. News & World Report. Irwin has a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
