Kate Davidson has been named Federal Reserve team leader at Bloomberg News.
She joined Bloomberg in late 2022 as U.S. economy editor. She previously had been at Politico.
Before that, she spent nearly seven years at The Wall Street Journal, where she covered the Biden administration’s economic agenda, the Treasury Department and U.S. fiscal policy. She previously covered the Federal Reserve, breaking numerous stories about central bank independence and accountability. She’s also written extensively about the broader economy including major trends that concern Washington around jobs, growth and inflation.
Before joining the Journal, Davidson was at Politico covering every major financial regulator, including the launch of the CFPB, and implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act.
She previously worked for the American Banker and CQ-Roll Call. Before moving to Washington, Davidson covered politics and business at the Concord Monitor and education at the New Hampshire Union Leader.
