The Daily Upside has hired Nat Rubio as a senior reporter and lead writer for its newly acquired newsletter Patent Drop, where they will write about technology and innovation.
They begin Jan. 16.
Rubio was a news writer at Protocol, where they covered technology and policy and helped write Source Code, Protocol’s flagship newsletter. They were a technology reporter at the Los Angeles Business Journal and worked as a digital producer and social media manager at Seattle Magazine.
They freelanced for the Puget Sound Business Journal and interned at San Francisco Business Times.
Rubio has a B.S. in newspaper and online journalism from Syracuse University.
