Crain’s New York real estate reporter Sachmechi joins real estate firm

Crain’s New York Business commercial real estate reporter Natalie Sachmechi has joined real estate firm Compass.

She had been at Crain’s New York since May 2020.

“I’m proud of the work I’ve done covering the city’s real estate industry with a microscope in hand,” said Sachmechi in a statement. “Making the move at a pivotal time like this is exciting.”

Sachmechi graduated from New York University’s business journalism master’s program. She previously worked at Forbes since June last year, first as a leadership reporter, then a billionaires reporter and am now an assistant editor on the Money team.

She also interned at CBS News.

She has worked in the non-profit sector as an intern at the Legal Aid Society, and then as a brand strategist for a political consulting firm Citizen HQ.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
