Crain’s Chicago Business has hired Leigh Giangreco as a reporter covering politics.
She previously was a researcher on WGN America’s news program “News Nation.” Before that, she was a reporter at The Capitol Forum covering defense contracts. She has also worked as a freelancer for more than five years and was a U.S. defense reporter for FlightGlobal.
She has also served as an associate editor at Inside Washington Publishers.
She previously worked in Washington, D.C., where she chronicled everything from the catastrophic failure of the Pentagon’s most expensive fighter jet program to why Joe Biden is on Tinder. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Politico, The Guardian and Bloomberg Citylab.
After graduating from American University, she worked at a community newspaper where she wrote about heroin-dependent infants, a rodeo cowboy turned NASA worker and a Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua dog race.
