Counts to cover creator economy for Bloomberg

Aisha Counts

Bloomberg News reporter Aisha Counts is taking on a new beat covering the creator economy.

She has been covering social media companies such as Twitter and Meta, with exclusives on Meta’s fading metaverse dreams as well as X’s plans to build a payments business and collect biometric data.

Counts has been a reporter at tech news site Protocol covering enterprise software. She had been a fellow at the news organization.

Previously, she worked for Ernst & Young, where she researched and wrote about the future of work, emerging technologies and startups.

Counts was a researcher at the University of Texas-San Antonio and a growth marketer at GigNow. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
