Tanya Meyer, the copy chief for the Crain Communications city publications, was among the layoffs last week.
“I’m now exploring other opportunities related to copy editing, editing, communications and project management,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
She managed tracking and copy editing duties for all daily news for the Crain’s Chicago Business website.
Meyer also managed workflow, copy editing of all page proofs, story selection for insider pages, rewriting headlines/decks/captions/pull quotes/graphic chatter, fixing design elements and production duties for Crain’s Chicago Business, Crain’s New York Business, Crain’s Cleveland Business and Crain’s Detroit Business weekly print editions.
She had been with Crain since October 2021. Mayer was also digital editor for Chicago Lawyer Magazine and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, and she was a copy editor for the Commercial Observer in New York.
Meyer is a graduate of Lewis University.
