Christopher Kirkpatrick, who was deputy director of content development at Consumer Reports, has been hired by the Fresno Bee to be senior editor.
Joshua Tehee of the Bee writes, “The Detroit native is a longtime reporter and newsroom manager with a history in investigative journalism.
“As the senior news director at the Detroit Free Press, he helped manage 120 journalists, editing daily coverage and long-range investigations. During his stint in Ohio at the Toledo Blade, he was one of the lead reporters on the ‘Coingate’ investigation, which uncovered financial corruption in state government. The story led to several indictments and was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize in 2006.
“Most recently, Kirkpatrick was deputy director of Content Development at Consumer Reports, where he led the team responsible for the outlet’s enterprise and investigative journalism.”
