Bonnie Meibers, who covers commercial real estate in downtown Columbus and Columbus’ core neighborhoods, is leaving the publication for a public relations position.
Meibers is joining a public affairs and public relations firm called MAD Global.
She joined Columbus Business First in 2021. Prior to that, she worked at the Dayton Daily News in Dayton, Ohio and the Grand Forks Herald in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
In Grand Forks, Meibers created and aggregated all content for the business section. Her coverage of Columbus’ changing neighborhoods won first place awards with both Ohio SPJ and the Cleveland Press Club’s Excellence in Journalism competition.
She has degrees in journalism and marketing from Miami University.
