CNN Business has promoted David Goldman to executive editor to oversee markets, companies, strategy and business coverage.
Recently, Goldman served as managing editor, where he oversaw breaking news as well as coverage of the economy and consumer brands.
As an assistant managing editor for CNN Digital, he developed, assigned and coordinated core business coverage and news gathering.
Goldman joined CNN in 2007 as a reporter covering the financial crisis. Later, he covered technology companies, the wireless industry, cybersecurity and online privacy. In 2013, he was named technology editor.
In 2016, Goldman was named senior news editor, a role in which he oversaw CNNMoney’s breaking news coverage. He then served as a senior editor.
He won three Best in Business awards from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing for reporting about technology and telecommunications,
Goldman holds bachelor’s degrees from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
